Animal ID & Traceability
Since September 11, 2001, a primary concern of the United States has been the safety of its food supply. In response to threats against food sources, the agriculture industry has developed biosecurity practices to identify and track crops and animals.
While the threat of terrorism contributed to motivate the evolution of biosecurity, the primary value of these practices involves the identification and tracking of diseased crops and animals. A biosecurity system represents a vital tool for the production of quality beef.
